Issue 23
In this month’s Behind the Lens article David returns to the Yukon, sharing with us the next instalment of his fascinating photo trip to this location; and again, there is also an accompanying Video Blog for your viewing pleasure. In How it’s Done, David talks us through his approach to and method of selecting focal points for shooting the landscape, and in this month’s Seeing the Light, he considers the challenges and rewards of photographing the cityscape at night. There are our usual two post-production Video Tutorials, and for Stepping Back David admits to those few perhaps reckless adventures upon which he has embarked in the name of photography.
From other contributors PR specialist Susie Hallam presents the send article in her two parter on social media in The Bizz series, this time exploring photo specific sites – Flickr, 500px, Pinterest and Instagram. For our Guest Feature we round up the current Formula 1 season with an article from brilliant F1 photo specialist Peter J Fox, as he introduces us to a ‘weekend in the life of’ an F1 photographer at the classic Monza racetrack. In addition we have the Member’s Gallery, with constructive comments from David on several f11 members pictures.
If you haven't already heard, September saw the launch of our brand new competition entitled Your Vision, and the lucky winner will receive a day's one-to-one tuition with David. Time is running out now, so for full details and information on how to enter, visit f11 Members' Your Vision Competition. Please spread the word, and we'll very much look forwards to receiving your entries.
To all our f11 Members, we hope you’re enjoying our magazine, but we need your pictures. If you fancy being featured in the Members' Gallery send us an email with three low-res jpegs and the story from behind the lens. We’ll look forward to hearing from you. And for those of you not yet an f11 member, take a look at the benefits of f11 membership. By joining, you’ll receive full access to the monthly edition of our magazine, as well as other goodies.
And may we at Team Noton take this opportunity to wish all our f11 Members a very Merry Christmas!
