Freda Hocking: I was in India on a photographic tour of Kerala for a couple of weeks and the late monsoon weather continued day after day with grey skies and rain. Fishing boats, nets and tea plantations were the subject for most days in some spectacular, beautiful scenery. As we approached the last few days of our time in India we visited the small, unknown and un-spoilt village of Athoor. To begin with I felt uneasy approaching the village people, as taking photographs of people was new to me. However, they were welcoming and very happy to pose for us.
