Canon EF 200-400mm f/4L IS USM Extender 1.4x Lens

The Art of Photography has nothing to do with the equipment; we know that. We also know that while a bad workman blames his tools, using the right tool for the job just feels right, and makes life so much easier; it also, where photography is concerned, certainly adds an extra element of fun. I don't think I'm an equipment freak. I guess you f11 members will be the best judges of that, but I will admit to a taste for using the best gear available for a certain task; who wouldn't?

The current generation of tilt-and-shift lenses are a case in point; they've enabled me to add an extra layer of refinement to my landscape photography. The low light capability of the Canon 1Dx is another example of a tool that has spawned a whole new range of photographic endeavours under the stars and Northern Lights, which you can read about in the accompanying ‘Seeing the Light’ insert link feature in this edition of the eZine. Clearly, while no new equipment acquisition is going to make the difference between us being good or indifferent photographers, the right tool for the job can help us express our unique vision.
