Tadoussac

David and Wendy Noton explore the environs of Quebec’s oldest settlement; Tadoussac, where the Saguenay Fjord meets the St Lawrence River.

October 8, 2019

As we pull off the road my heart sinks. In the darkness I can make out other parked cars, figures stood on the escarpment, and yes, a few tripods. It’s been a long time since I had to share a location with a workshop group. I’ve not seen a single other photographer so far on this trip; I suppose it had to happen. But as we shoulder our sacs and trudge to the spot on the dunes I scouted yesterday I realise they’re not cameras on legs, telescopes. They’re twitchers… that’s OK then.
